William Quinn Beardslee died unexpectedly on March 24, 2015 at his home in Arlington, Virginia. He was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. Bill graduated from Fort Collins High School before attending the University of Denver where he studied International Relations and German. While at the university, he was editor of the university newspaper. After receiving his B.S. degree, he commenced studies at the University of Denver Law School and received his J.D. degree. William Quinn Beardslee died unexpectedly on March 24, 2015 at his home in Arlington, Virginia. He was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. Bill graduated from Fort Collins High School before attending the University of Denver where he studied International Relations and German. While at the university, he was editor of the university newspaper. After receiving his B.S. degree, he commenced studies at the University of Denver Law School and received his J.D. degree. He was editor of the International Law Journal during his law school years. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer, and served in Germany, Mexico, and Washington, DC. He later joined the Civil Service and worked at the Department of State, Department of Labor, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Bill married Meredith McEvoy in 1999. She survives him along with two children, Fiona Beardslee and Nathan Beardslee. He is survived by his parents William and Nancy Beardslee of Fort Collins and his sister Rebecca Grabler. He is also survived by Terry and Maura McEvoy, his in-laws. All who knew him recognized him as a devoted husband, father, son, and friend.

William was an avid hunter, fisherman, and conservationist. The family would be honored by memorial gifts to the Sierra Foundation at Sierra Club.org.


A visitation will held from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Murphy Funeral Home located at 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia. It will be followed by a brief service at 12:00.
